Firefighters rescue hiker hurt in leap into Maunawili Falls pool
Firefighters rescued a woman who was hurt when she jumped into a pool at Maunawili Falls.
The woman, who is in her 50s, leaped from a waterfall and hurt herself landing in the water, said Honolulu fire Capt. Gary Lum. Afterward, she began complaining about numbness and loss of movement.
Firefighters were dispatched at 12:46 p.m.Saturday. About four firefighters hiked to the woman and prepared her for transport.

A fire helicopter carried her in a basket to Maunawili Valley Neighborhood Park, where firefighters transferred her to paramedics at 1:40 p.m.
