Two sailors who were reported missing on Sunday are back on Chuuk Island in the Marianas after being picked up on Wednesday, the Coast Guard said.

A Marine Corps KC-130J Super Hercules aircraft from Okinawa spotted the skiff with the two men 69 miles northwest of Chuuk Island while conducting a search in coordination with the Coast Guard. A life raft with an aviation radio, food, water, flares and signaling devices was dropped to the men.

The 623-foot motor vessel Solar Africa picked up the mariners at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday. A Chuukese fishing vessel transferred the mariners from the Solar Africa and took them to Chuuk Island.

A Coast Guard C-130 aircraft from Barbers Point participated in the search.
