Vehicle collision sparks small brush fire on Hawaii island
A motor vehicle collision on Saddle Road on Hawaii island sparked a one-acre brush fire that shut down the road for more than an hour.
Neither driver was injured.
The collision occurred near the 50-mile marker around 10:30 a.m. Saturday and resulted in one of the cars becoming fully engulfed by flames. The fire spread to nearby brush, causing heavy smoke along the roadway.
The fire was brought under control by 11:15 a.m.
