Man hit by bus in Nanakuli died of head injuries, Medical Examiner’s Office says
A Nanakuli man who died after being hit by a city bus in Nanakuli on Saturday died of head injuries from the crash, the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office said.
The manner of his death remained under investigation, the office said.
Filipo Tui died at the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center Saturday.
Police said Tui, who suffered from dementia, was on the makai shoulder of Farrington Highway when he wandered into the path of an oncoming bus near Hakimo Road at 5:53 a.m.
After the bus hit Tui, he fell backwards and hit his head, police said.
