Coast Guard rescues woman from sinking skiff off Keehi Lagoon Park
The Coast Guard rescued a woman today after her skiff sank off Keehi Lagoon Park.
The woman departed on a skiff, but her drain plugs were not secured and her skiff began taking on water about 3:30 p.m., a Coast Guard spokesman said.
Other boaters saw the woman in trouble and called the Coast Guard, who responded with a 25-foot response boat.
The Coast Guard picked the woman up and took her back to Keehi Small Boat Harbor. Her skiff sank, the spokesman said.
