LOS GATOS, Calif. >> California Highway Patrol investigators say a 25-year-old woman is dead and a 20-year-old woman hospitalized after a fight on a party bus got out of hand.

CHP Officer D.J. Sarabia says the woman was killed and the second woman injured as the bus drove on Highway 17 near Los Gatos late Friday when the door to the bus somehow opened during the fight, and both women fell out.

Sarabia says the woman who died was run over by the bus. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second woman suffered moderate injuries. Their names have not been released.

About 12 to 15 people were on the bus, but Sarabia says investigators were having trouble sorting things out because the passengers on the bus were, in his words, “highly intoxicated.”
