Kahuku man allegedly threatens estranged wife with knife as they discuss child custody

A 31-year-old Kahuku man is accused of threatening his estranged wife with a knife during a dispute over custody of their child.

Police said the 27-year-old woman agreed to meet with her estranged husband in Pupukea Thursday to discuss custody issues. 

While driving, the suspect became agitated and allegedly threatened his wife with a knife, police said.

She escaped by jumping out of the car when it slowed. She went to a store to call police.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.
