Maui County personnel rescue family of 5 paddle-boarders
Maui County rescue personnel helped a family of five from Houston today after they were blown about 500 yards offshore from Kalama Park during a paddle-boarding outing.
Personnel from the Fire Department’s Rescue 6 and Ocean Safety’s Jet Ski 6 units responded to the 9:45 a.m. alarm.
They reached the father, mother, two daughters and a son and escorted them back to Kamaole Beach Park 1, the county said. All reached shore safely and were unhurt.
