Man, 54, charged in Pepeekeo burglary

Hawaii County police have arrested and charged a 54-year-old man, who allegedly tried to break into a 60-year-old Pepeekeo man’s home Monday.

Police arrested Ralph Curtis Riveira, who has no permanent address, Monday, and charged him Tuesday with one count of attempted first-degree burglary.

His bail was set at $25,000.

Police said a Pepeekeo resident called police after seeing a man allegedly force open a neighbor’s window. The man fled after he saw he was being watched.
