Man arrested in alleged hatchet attack on ex-girlfriend
A 43-year-old homeless man is accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend with a hatchet.
Police did not say when the alleged attack occurred, but noted that the suspect was in a relationship with a 26-year-old woman and several alleged instances of abuse of a household member occurred between May 21 to June 16.
Police said the suspect harassed his ex-girlfriend after their relationship ended. At one point, police said the suspect chased the woman with a small hatchet. She escaped and called police. When officers arrested the suspect Thursday near the Ala Moana Shopping Center, he was found with a stolen bike, police said.
He was being held on suspicion of four counts of second-degree terroristic threatening, two counts of abuse of a family member, and theft.
