No tsunami from 6.2 magnitude quake in Papua New Guinea
No tsunami warning was issued after a magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck the northern coast of Papua New Guinea Sunday afternoon.
The quake hit at 12:41 p.m., Hawaii time 72 miles north northeast of Mount Hagen, Papua New Guinea and 65 miles south southeast of Angoram, Papua New Guinea, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The epicenter was at a depth of 48 miles.
There were no immediate reports of serious injuries or damage.
