ANCHORAGE, Alaska >> A federal grand jury in Anchorage has indicted a woman from Hawaii on a misdemeanor charge of assaulting a flight attendant.

U.S. Attorney Karen Loeffler says Kyong Cha Lee, 56, of Aiea struck the female flight attendant with both hands Aug. 19 during an Alaska Airlines flight from Hawaii to Anchorage.

Loeffler says Lee also used profane language to threaten the attendant.

Prosecutors say the maximum penalty for a conviction is six months in jail and a $5,000 fine.

The FBI and Anchorage airport police investigated the incident.
