A robber, fleeing after stealing a cellphone from a man in Waikiki early Wednesday morning, collided with two police officers who ended up arresting him.

Otter A.R.L. Pauls, of no local address, was charged with second-degree robbery. His bail was set at $11,000.

Police said a suspect punched a 36-year-old man in the face and stole his cellphone at 2:52 this morning.

The victim followed the suspect, who had run into two police officers near Kalakaua Avenue, and identified him. The victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
