Hawaii County police were searching for a stolen homemade flatbed utility trailer from the Fern Forrest subdivision in Puna.

The trailer was last seen Sept. 17 in the area of Leila Road, police said.

It is described as 16 feet long with newly painted black fenders, double axles, four new tires, plastic mats and a wooden base. The number “294” is welded to the front supporting frame in large, visible type.

Police ask that anyone with information on the trailer’s whereabouts call officer Shawn Matsuda at 965-2716. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call CrimeStoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona.
