No. 8 Hawaii defeats CSU Northridge in volleyball
Junior Emily Hartong put down 21 kills and freshman Tai Manu-Olevao added 11 in her first career start as No. 8 Hawaii turned back Cal State Northridge 22-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-20 in a Big West volleyball match tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Freshman Jade Vorster added 10 kills and Ali Longo 17 digs for the Rainbow Wahine (15-2, 8-0 Big West). Emily Maeda had three of Hawaii’s seven aces as the Wahine won their ninth straight.
Casey Hinger had kills and Cindy Ortiz 31 digs for the Matadors (13-7, 4-4).
Hawaii next hosts UC Davis Oct. 18 at the Stan Sheriff Center. First serve is 7 p.m.
