Honolulu fire rescue personnel carried an injured hiker off the Koko Crater Stairs trail in Hawaii Kai Saturday evening.
According to Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Capt. Carlton Yamada, a woman in her 30s suffered an apparent ankle injury during a fall and was unable to continue down the steep, narrow trail. The woman was with one other adult and three children.
HFD received the call for help around 7:40 p.m.
The woman could not be airlifted off the trail due to darkness, so firefighters hiked to her location about midway up the trail and carried her down.
