A pickup truck crashed into a utility pole on Kuhio Highway fronting the Coconut Marketplace in Wailua, Kauai, downing a utility pole and backing up traffic Saturday.
According to Kauai police, the truck crashed into the pole along the northbound lane of the highway. The pole fell, damaging two other utility poles.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
Police closed the north entrance of Aleka Loop and motorists were advised to use the south entrance to access the Courtyard by Marriott at Coconut Beach and neighboring hotels.
