Morimoto restaurant empire expanding to Maui

Iron chef Masaharu Morimoto demonstrated how to decapitate and fillet an uku in just a few strokes during the "Wild and Raw" seminar at the Modern Honolulu.

Celebrity chef and restaurateur Masaharu Morimoto will expand to Maui with a restaurant at the Andaz Maui at Wailea, to open next summer.

Morimoto Maui will integrate fresh, locally sourced food products with Japanese techniques.

Known globally for his role on the TV shows “Iron Chef,” and “Iron Chef America,” Morimoto has numerous restaurants including his high-end eatery in Waikiki.

The Maui restaurant will include a 57-seat indoor dining area, 56-seat outdoor terrace, and 23-seat terrace bar. It will be open daily for lunch and dinner.
