Tip leads to arrest of Hawaii island couple in Puna burglary

Hawaii County police have charged a Big Island couple in connection with a break-in Tuesday in Puna.

Shortly before 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, police received a tip that led them to a home on 5th Avenue in Hawaiian Paradise Park, and responding officers arrested a man and a woman in the house.

Blaine L. K. Faris III, 31, of Honomu and 37- year-old Stephanie M. Christie, 37, of Keaau were each charged  with one count of first-degree burglary. Bail for each was set at $5,000.
