Dolphin-naming contest being held for YouTube star
A baby-naming contest is being held for a YouTube star from Hawaii.
When 12-year-old Keo gave birth in late September, the video of the baby dolphin coming into the world was a hit.
Dolphin Quest Hawaii, where the baby resides with 12 other dolphins on Hawaii island, says the baby needs a unique Hawaiian name, and so do her two young playmates.
Katie Rice, Dolphin Quest Hawaii’s manager of marine animals, said today that Keo’s baby is adorable. She says the female calf is unusually inquisitive and has surpassed each dolphin baby milestone.
The contest runs through Dec. 14. Suggestions can be made in person or online. Winners will get a swim for two with the dolphins.
