Teen escapee from youth correctional facility arrested
A 17-year-old girl is back in custody at the Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility and facing escape charges after scaling a fence at the Kailua facility.
Police said the suspect missed a headcount Tuesday night and was later caught on surveillance video climbing a fence.
Authorities called the suspect’s mother who told them where she was. The girl was taken into custody at 1:15 this morning.
