Warning signs about an infestation of Portuguese man-of-war were removed Monday afternoon from Ala Moana and Waikiki beaches by city lifeguards.

The signs were posted Monday morning.

Emergency Medical Services paramedics treated a 56-year-old man and a 5-year-old boy who reported stings in Waikiki. They weren’t taken to the hospital.

City lifeguards are treating the stings onshore.
