Man arrested for allegedly threatening Makiki woman
Police Tuesday arrested a 61-year-old man who allegedly broke into a 52-year-old Makiki woman’s home on Sept. 11, then threatened and kidnapped her.
The man and woman are former intimate partners, police said.
The suspect allegedly threatened the woman’s life, restrained her and prevented her from leaving her home for several hours, police said.
The woman escaped after freeing herself from the restraints while the man was distracted, police said.
Police arrested him on suspicion of burglary, kidnapping and first-degree terroristic threatening.
The man was already in custody at Oahu Community Correctional Center when he was arrested for the Sept. 11 offenses.
