Police arrested two suspected young car thieves Wednesday night after witnesses saw them in their car late Wednesday night.

Police said a 53-year-old woman and 24-year-old man saw the boys, ages 12 and 13, in their car and confronted them at about 7 p.m. at an undisclosed Honolulu location.

The boys fled, but one of the witnesses chased after them until police arrived and arrested the suspects.

Police said the boys had an item belonging to the 24-year-old man on them when they were detained.

After being processed for their arrests on suspicion of  unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, the boys were released pending further investigation.
