A 35-year-old woman was seriously injured when the mo-ped she was operating collided with a city bus at Kapiolani Boulevard and Hauoli Street late Friday afternoon.

According to police, the mo-ped was headed mauka on Hauoli Street when it collided with the bus, which was headed in the Diamond Head direction on Kapiolani, about 4:45 p.m.

Neither the driver of the bus nor any of his passengers were injured.

The bus driver declined to comment on the accident.

The mo-ped rider was transported to a local trauma center by paramedics.
