Despite locally decreasing trade winds, a high surf advisory remains in effect for the east-facing shores of all islands through Saturday evening.

Surf is expected to reach six to eight feet, according to forecasters at the National Weather Service.

Rough and choppy surf is the order of the week, forecasters say. The advisory is in effect through 6 p.m. Saturday.

Beachgoers are urged to stay out of the water and away from the shore break because of dangerous wave action and strong rip currents.
