No. 1 UC Irvine sweeps Hawaii in volleyball
No. 1 UC Irvine proved to be too much for No. 11 Hawaii tonight, sweeping the Warriors 25-20, 25-22, 25-11, in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men’s volleyball match in Irvine, Calif.
It was the fourth match in five days for Hawaii (5-10, 4-8) which went 1-3 on the road trip. Sophomore opposite Brook Sedore and freshman hitter Siki Zarkovic led the Warriors with 10 kills each at the Bren Events Center.
For UCI (14-3, 11-3), Kevin Tillie had 10 kills and Colin Mehring was in on seven of the Anteaters’ 13 blocks.
Hawaii opens a four-match homestand March 1 hosting Cal State Northridge.
