New KHON-TV parent company LIN Media confirmed the departure of President and General Manager Joe McNamara effective today.

No successor was immediately appointed to head Hawaii’s Fox and CW affiliates, but “we will be naming someone here very quickly,” Scott Blumenthal, LIN Media executive vice president for television, told the Star-Advertiser.

Leadership changes after station sales are common, though McNamara had led KHON through a previous ownership change.

LIN purchased KHON and 16 mainland sister-stations in May.
