Pearl City man charged with shooting dog and threatening hunters

An 81-year-old Pearl City man was charged with animal cruelty after he allegedly shot a dog and threatened three hunters near his home Saturday.

Bail for Anthony Silva was set at $100,000.

Silva was arrested on suspicion of first-degree animal cruelty, three counts of first-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree reckless endangering and failing to safely keep a loaded firearm.

The suspect allegedly shot the dog and threatened three men hunting with the dog in a ravine behind his Pearl City home on Aluka Place, police said.
