2 Texas brothers charged with raping child arrested at Honolulu airport
Two brothers, charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, were arrested this morning at Honolulu Airport en route to Majuro without incident by U.S. marshalls.
Tarius Manuere, 43; and Noah Manuere, 40, were booked by Honolulu police and are awaiting an extradition hearing back to Texas. They are scheduled to appear in federal court on Monday.
An arrest warrant was issued on Jan. 8 by the state of Texas, Navarro County charging them with aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony. The alleged crime occurred over a period of time.
The alleged female juvenile victim is a relative of the Manuere brothers. The victim is currently four months pregnant and the father is suspected to be one of the brothers.
The suspects fled Corsicana, Texas on Sunday, authorities said. The North Texas Fugitive Task Force learned through their investigations that the suspects were en route to the Majuro and referred the case to Hawaii authorities.
Assisting in the arrest this morning were law enforcement officers from Customs and Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations, Hawaii State Sheriffs and the Honolulu Police Department.
