Suspect in attempted murder case is released
A 48-year-old Waipahu man arrested on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder after he allegedly struck a 23-year-old man with his vehicle late Friday is free pending further investigation, the city prosector’s office has confirmed.
According to police, the two men were arguing just before the 11:33 p.m. incident. A patrol officer saw the incident, which occurred near the suspect’s home on Waipahu Depot Street, and arrested the suspect.
The victim, identified as the boyfriend of the suspect’s daughter, was taken by ambulance to an local trauma center in serious condition.
