Evan Licht put down 18 kills and No. 8 UC Santa Barbara swept No. 12 Hawaii 25-21, 25-20, 25-19 in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation volleyball match tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The Gauchos improved to 14-12 overall, 10-10) MPSF in spoiling senior night for Hawaii’s lone senior, libero Matthew Cheape. UCSB also may have ended the Warriors’ playoff hopes.

The only way Hawaii (10-15, 8-14)  can make the playoffs is by winning its last two at UC San Diego in two weeks and have Cal State Northridge lose its last four or Stanford its last five.

UCSB, CSU Northridge and Stanford all have the tie-breaker on Hawaii.

Freshman Siki Zarkovic led the Warriors with seven kills. Hawaii, the top serving team in the MPSF, had no aces tonight.

The Warriors host their alumni in a 5 p.m. match Sunday, April 7.
