Motorists using Keolu Drive in Enchanted Lake this morning can expect slow traffic conditions between Hui and Nanialii streets as Board of Water Supply crews continue to repair a12-inch water main that broke Wednesday afternoon.
The break forced the closure of both makai-bound lanes on Keolu Drive and special duty officers are contra-flowing one of two mauka-bound lanes.
Crews restored water service to businesses in a small shopping complex on Keolu Drive near Hui Street at about 5:45 a.m. The businesses had been without water since the main broke shortly after 4:30 p.m.
Crews replaced about 8 feet of the damaged main, which was originally installed in 1955. After the main is replaced, the road will also have to be repaved.
The Board of Water Supply expects the repairs to continue for most of the morning.
