A 43-year-old Kalihi man, who got so angry during an argument at the beach last week that he allegedly ended up kicking and damaging a car, is now in police custody.
Police said the suspect got into an argument on April 26 with a couple at a Kakaako park. The suspect then kicked a car belonging to a 34-year-old woman and fled. Damage to the victim’s car was estimated at $1,500, police said.
On Monday, the couple saw the suspect at Ala Moana Park and called police.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of second-degree property damage.
