Washington State freshman and Konawaena alumna Lia Galdeira is one of 34 players who received and accepted invitations to attend the 2013 U.S. National Team Trials to tryout for the FIBA U19 World Championship Team at the U.S. Olympic Training Center, USA Basketball announced Tuesday.

The tryouts will be held May 16-18. Twelve players will be selected to compete at the 2013 FIBA U19 World Championships, hosted by Lithuania on July 18-28.

"I am very excited and proud to represent Washington State and our country while competing with and against some of the best players in the world," Galdeira said in a Washington State press release.

Galdeira recently completed her freshman season at Washington State, leading the team in scoring (14.8 ppg), rebounding (5.2 rpg), steals (86) and 3-pointers made (41).

She was the second-leading freshman scorer in the country.
