Maui fire personnel rescued two men in their 20s who were drifting out to sea this afternoon in a disabled boat.

The Maui Fire Department said in an e-mail that the two men were in trouble fronting the McGregor Point lookout at 4:34 p.m.

The fire units made visual contact with the 15-foot inflatable rigid-hull boat, which had lost power about a mile south of the lookout and had drifted south toward Kahoolawe.

The Fire Department helicopter and the fire rescue watercraft located the boat at 5:15 p.m.

Both men were in good condition.

The fire rescue watercraft towed the boat to Maalaea Harbor.
