An Ewa Beach couple faces a several criminal charges after an 8-hour standoff with police.
Police said the incident started after 8 p.m. Wednesday when an officer went to a Haloani Street address to investigate a parking complaint.
While interviewing a 55-year-old man, the officer noted the suspect wearing a shoulder holster showing the butt of a firearm. The suspect resisted when the officer tried to arrest him, police said.
At that point, the suspect’s 55-year-old wife intervened and suspect fled into his home.
The male suspect barricaded himself until 5:15 a.m. when he surrendered to police.
Homes in the neighborhood were evacuated during the barricade situation.
The male suspect was arrested on suspicion of second-degree terroristic threatening and several firearms violation since he is a convicted felon, police said.
His wife was arrested on suspicion of harassing a police officer.
