A bulk shipper of liquid food products founded in Hawaii has been purchased by Connecticut-based Odyssey Logistics & Technology affiliate OL&T FoodTrans LLC for undisclosed terms.

Hawaii Intermodal Tank Transport was established in Hawaii by Bahman Sadeghi in 2002 but relocated its base to Palmetto, Fla. in 2009, according to state business registration records.

HITT is known for its large fleet of double-insulated and refrigerated tanks dedicated for shipments of food-grade products, such as milk.

“It is HITT’s ability to deliver environmentally-responsible and sophisticated temperature controlled, high purity logistics solutions for road, rail and ocean transport that earned them the competitive edge and impressive growth that drew OL&T’s attention,” said Robert Shellman, OL&T president and chief executive officer, in a statement.

HITT will be integrated with OL&T’s business unit and will continue to provide aseptic transportation of food-grade products under the “AsepTrans” brand name.
