A man whose body was found floating about a quarter of a mile off Waiahole Valley on Wednesday has been identified as Domingo Claro, 51, of Wahiawa.

The cause and manner of Claro’s death is pending an autopsy scheduled tentatively for Friday, the city Department of Medical Examiner said today.

Fishermen who spotted the body called 911 at about 7:10 a.m. on Wednesday, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Capt. Terry Seelig said. Fire-rescue personnel used watercraft to bring the body to shore at 8:45 a.m., and turned it over to police and medical examiners.
