A man found guilty of murdering a Waianae High School teacher is expected to be sentenced.

Tittleman Fauatea is scheduled to be sentenced today in the 2009 death of Asa Yamashita.

The apparently unprovoked stabbing happened as the 43-year-old teacher was eating a bowl of noodles while sitting on a bench at the Ewa Town Center.

Fauatea underwent several mental fitness exams before being found fit to stand trial.

A judge found him guilty in March of second-degree murder.

He faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole.
