1 work furlough escapee remains missing after another turns self in
One of the two Oahu Community Correctional Center inmates, who failed to return from work furlough programs this weekend, turned himself in to prison authorities Monday night.
Jeremy Casella, 30, did not return to the Kalihi facility at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, and instead returned to OCCC at 9 p.m. He was re-booked on a charge of second-degree escape.
Casella left at 1:45 p.m. Saturday to go to work. He is serving time for second-degree robbery
Still missing is Jason Gomes, 43, who left on a work furlough pass 5 a.m. Sunday and was supposed to return at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. He was in prison for second-degree robbery.
Gomes is now facing second-degree escape charge.
