A 29-year-old hiker, who was reported missing Monday, was airlifted from the Mariner’s Ridge Trail in Hawaii Kai this morning.

Capt. Terry Seelig, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman, said Sean Lesley was in good condition after he was taken from the ridge to a landing zone in Kamiloiki Park just before 7:30 a.m. to be evaluated by paramedics.

Lesley contacted his family at 5 a.m. Monday saying he was going hiking in the Mariner’s Ridge area, police said.

Seelig said an early-morning hiker called HFD saying he heard yelling in the valley. Later, the caller told fire officials that Lesley had climbed up the ridge to the place where he was eventually located.
