No Hawaii markets among Most Diverse list by NerdWallet
Cities in California, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and New York were among the 10 Most Diverse published by personal finance site NerdWallet.com.
No Hawaii markets were among the top 10 or 20 on the NerdWallet list, though the site said it included more than 1900 locales in the analysis which it says was based on data from the U.S. Census.
NerdWallet calculated scores by measuring how near the populations were to an equal distribution of residents across what it calls the four most common ethnic groups, being Hispanic/Latino; White, Black and Asian/Pacific Islander.
NerdWallet’s top 10 most diverse cities were: Vallejo, Calif.; Jersey City, N.J.; Suisun City, Calif.; Oakland, Calif.; San Leandro, Calif.; Germantown, Md.; Lincolnia, Va.; Atlantic City, N.J.; New York, N.Y., and Florin, Calif.
