Medical Examiner IDs man found floating in Keehi Lagoon
The Medical Examiner’s office has identified the 53-year-old man, who drowned July 7 while swimming in Keehi Lagoon near the La Marina Restaurant, as Mark Alexander.
The cause of death was accidental drowning due to asphyxia, the medical examiner said.
Police said the victim was found floating face down off 50 Sand Island Access Road just before 3 a.m. on July 7. He was pulled out of the water and taken in critical condition to the hospital where his death was reported at 3:42 p.m.
