Shots reported fired after trespassing incident on Hawaii island

Hawaii island police are investigating an alleged trespassing incident in Puna that ended with gunfire from the fleeing suspects.

According to police, three males cut an entrance gate and entered a Hawaiian Acres subdivision property Friday before being “chased off” by the property owner. As the suspects were leaving in a silver-colored pick-up truck, several shots were fired from the truck.

No injuries were reported.

Police did not specify when the incident occurred.

The suspects were described only as local males between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8 in height.
