Bystanders chase down bag theft suspect on Waikiki beach
A thief tried to make off with a bag left on Waikiki Beach, but bystanders chased the 23-year-old suspect, police said.
The victim, a 31-year-old man, left his bag on the beach and went for a swim. When the suspect allegedly grabbed the bag and ran, other people on the beach gave chase, police said.
Officers arrested the suspect after investigating the Friday incident, police said Monday.
