An off-duty federal police officer died Sunday when the motorcycle he was operating crashed on the onramp from Likelike Highway to the H-3 freeway westbound.

Long Hyuhn, 47, was employed as a federal police officer with the U.S. Department of Defense.

Hyuhn, a member of the Iron Circle Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, leaves a wife and two children.

Club president Ed Stankos said his group extends “our love and prayers to the family of Long Hyuhn.”

“Long was a cop with a heart and will be greatly missed,” Stankos said.

Stankos said Hyuhn was retired from the U.S. Navy and worked with the Club on charity benefits for fallen law enforcement officers.

The crash occurred around 12:47 p.m., and the rider was not wearing a helmet.
