Police find drugs on suspected copper thief in Wahiawa
A 28-year-old man sought in connection for allegedly stealing copper last month ended up facing other charges after illegal drugs were found in his car.
The suspect, who did not have a local address when he was apprehended in Wahiawa Wednesday afternoon near Wilson Reservoir, was being sought in connection with theft of copper fittings from a local investment company on Aug.11.
Besides a charge of third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug, the suspect did not have a valid driver’s license. Theft of copper is class C felony which carries a maximum jail term of five years and $10,000 fine.
