Traffic stop of bicyclist leads to theft arrest
Police caught a suspected thief Sunday morning in the McCully area after stopping the man for a traffic violation, police said.
The 33-year-old man was riding his bicycle around 10:34 a.m. when a patrol officer stopped him for a traffic violation and discovered that he had two outstanding warrants for his arrest, police said.
When the man was being taken into custody police discovered he had property belonging to a 53-year-old man that included confidential personal information, according to police records.
The suspect was arrested without incident on suspicion of unauthorized possession of personal information and the two contempt warrants.
