Repairs to water line on Nimitz continue

A Board of Water Supply crew resumed repairing a broken 6-inch water line that feeds a fire hydrant on Nimitz Highway between Alakea and Bishop streets at 8 p.m. Tuesday but will again stop by 6 a.m. today.

Two Ewa-bound lanes on Nimitz Highway between Alakea Street and Bishop Street will be closed. Motorists are advised to exercise caution while driving through the work area and to use alternate travel routes if possible.

The work will finalize repairs to the water line that broke on Sunday. Work was scheduled to minimize impact to rush hour traffic.
